As part of my master's degree program at Northwestern University, I worked as a fully credentialed Washington correspondent. Covering a supreme court ruling, wandering the halls of congress, the thrill of writing on a daily deadline about issues of such great importance-- for me, it was like going to Disney World. I gained such a unique perspective on how good and bad federal policies impact those they are supposed to help.
